Director, LANTURNO MANAGEMENT S.A
The Lanturno Group of Companies started its activities mainly in crude oil trading. Lanturno built his name by supplying via pipeline Slovak, Czech and Hungarian refineries with Russian Export Blended Crude Oil between 2005 and 2008. Since a few years, the core activities were switched to coal trading, mainly Russian coal exported to the Black Sea area but also to China, Spain and North Africa. Lanturno consists in a small team of less than twenty people, each specialized in a given area and with the ability to quickly adapt its strategy depending on the market environment.
Samir Zreikat joined Lanturno in June 2012 as CFO and Director of the group, focusing on optimizing the trade reporting and accounting processes as well as managing and developing the Trade finance activities and needs.
Samir holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Geneva. His career started in 1986 when he joined Cargill (“Tradax”). A year later, he moved to Vitol where he started in the Operations department and quickly became a member of the crude trading team as junior trader. When Vitol branched out in the CIS in 1990, he took a position as internal controller and support for the teams based in various CIS countries. Samir left Vitol in 1998 to briefly work in the ERP software industry. A year later he joined the France Telecom group where he rapidly became the Regional Sales Director for wholesale telecom products and solutions for the EMEA region. The 2008 financial crisis put an end to this adventure and in 2009 he took a management position in the Oxton Group of Companies, a Caspian based trading house specialized in refined oil products and LPG which he left in 2012 to further his career with Lanturno.
